49 Winchester is set to debut a brand-new song, “Miles To Go,” in the season finale of Yellowstone on Sunday, December 15. The band, known for its independent spirit and Southern roots, has become a favorite among Yellowstone fans, with their track “Make It Count” featured in the penultimate episode on December 8, and another song in the series back in 2022.
The new track is the latest release from 49 Winchester’s album Leaving This Holler, which was nominated for Saving Country Music’s 2024 Album of the Year. Frontman Isaac Gibson explains that “Miles To Go” was written in a rush, while traveling between cities. “It’s a leaving song, which seems to have been a big theme on our new album,” he says. “I wrote it between cities, somewhere on some distant stretch of interstate, in a matter of a couple of minutes.”
Fans of the band can also look forward to the release of 49 Winchester’s first three albums—49 Winchester (2014), The Wind (2018), and III (2020)—on vinyl for the first time, available on January 17, 2025. The limited-edition colored vinyl will be available at indie record stores, alongside standard black vinyl editions.
With the Yellowstone finale promising more musical surprises, including Ryan Bingham’s new song “A Song for the Stone,” it’s shaping up to be a memorable night for country and Americana fans alike.
