Shinedown bassist Eric Bass has unveiled a new solo track, “Azalia,” offering fans a glimpse into the narrative world of his upcoming debut solo album, I Had a Name, set for release on February 28.
The song’s title references Azalia, a key character in the album’s storyline. Bass describes her as “a former warrior monk who has thrown off her religion to become an assassin.” In the song, Azalia is on the run, pursued by government forces, relying on her survival instincts and a special gift from her mother to navigate her dangerous journey.
Fans can stream “Azalia” now on digital platforms and watch its accompanying music video on YouTube. The track follows the release of “Mind Control,” another single from I Had a Name.
Bass, known for his role in Shinedown, previously contributed to the band’s 2022 album Planet Zero, and now steps into the spotlight with his own creative endeavor.
