Canadian thrash metal music icons Sacrifice are set to make a triumphant return in 2025 with Volume Six, their first new album in over sixteen years. The highly anticipated album marks a major milestone as the band’s sixth studio release and second since their 2006 reunion. The record will feature ten new tracks along with a special cover that pays tribute to the Toronto metal scene from which the band originally rose.
Produced by Sacrifice’s own vocalist/guitarist Rob Urbinati, Volume Six was recorded at Phase One Studios in Scarborough, Ontario, between September 2023 and May 2024. The album was mixed and mastered by engineer Darius Szczepaniak, who also worked on the band’s 2009 album, The Ones I Condemn.
The new album sees the return of Sacrifice’s original lineup, including lead guitarist Joe Rico, bassist Scott Watts, drummer Gus Pynn, and Urbinati. The band’s long-standing unity is a rarity in thrash metal, with Sacrifice remaining one of the few 1980s thrash bands still featuring its original members. Volume Six promises to deliver the high-octane thrash sound that fans have been eagerly awaiting.
Ahead of the album’s full release, Sacrifice has shared a lyric video for the album’s lead single, “Antidote of Poison,” which offers a powerful taste of the band’s unrelenting sound. Fans can expect a blend of blistering riffs, intense rhythms, and sharp songwriting that showcases the band’s enduring influence in the thrash metal world.
