Glór Tíre Seeks Louth’s Next Country Music Star for Landmark 21st Season

TG4 is on the hunt for Ireland’s next country music sensation as auditions open for the 21st season of Glór Tíre. Residents of Louth are being urged to apply, with the show set to spotlight new talent from across the country.

Returning to TV screens in March and April 2025, the popular series will feature eight up-and-coming Country & Irish singers vying for the prestigious title of Glór Tíre Country Music Champion.

Launched in 2004 by Co Galway-based Gael Media, Glór Tíre has become a key platform for emerging artists and is widely regarded as an essential force in promoting and preserving Irish Country music. The show’s influence is recognized not only by audiences but also by established artists who value its role in shaping the genre’s future.

Auditions for the new season are now open to fresh Country and Irish talent, with recording set to begin in Connemara, Co Galway, in January 2025. Aoife Ní Thuairsig will return as the show’s presenter, while resident judges Jó Ní Chéide and Caitriona Ní Shuilleabháin will be joined by guest judges throughout the season. The series will also feature mentors drawn from some of the most respected names in Irish Country music.
