Rising country music artist Lil Man J continues to make waves in the genre with his latest single, “Pick You Up,” following a year of viral success. Produced by Aaron Zuckerman (known for his work with Keith Urban and Hunter Hayes), the track tells a small-town love story, with J inviting his love interest to embrace country living and its simple pleasures. The song’s catchy chorus captures a carefree spirit: “I just wanna pick you up, small town livin’ in a big ol’ truck / I don’t wanna say too much, real talk girl we could fall in love / Somewhere out in Carolina, got a place where they can’t find us.”
The accompanying music video for “Pick You Up” showcases J in Nashville, singing outside the honky-tonks on Broadway and interacting with fans. The upbeat anthem has already captured the attention of fans, amassing over five million views and hundreds of thousands of likes across social media platforms.
“I wanted to write a fun song after ‘Way Out,’ which is very serious, and I came up with the idea of a country boy meeting a city girl and showing her how much fun small town living can be,” said J. “I knew ‘Pick You Up’ was a banger with a hit chorus as soon as we made the initial demo.”
Born in Clover, South Carolina, Lil Man J’s musical journey spans multiple genres. After gaining millions of streams for his rap song “Cap Freestyle” in 2022, J transitioned fully into country music. He kept his country roots alive with a viral TikTok cover of Zach Bryan’s “Something In The Orange” and followed up with the well-received “Whiskey For The Wine.” The song quickly became a fan favorite, racking up tens of millions of streams and landing spots on major playlists like Spotify’s Next From Nashville and Apple Music’s Viral Country.
Now firmly committed to a country music career, Lil Man J has continued to impress with heartfelt releases like “Way Out” and the Whiskey For The Wine remix featuring That Mexican OT. Most recently, he dropped the holiday single “Hey Mrs. Claus,” further cementing his diverse musical range.
