Ahead of her one-night-only Wildflowers and Wild Horses show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Lainey Wilson opened up about her successful year and voiced her strong support for the growing presence of women in country music.

The 32-year-old hitmaker reflected on the positive changes in the genre, noting, “Country’s having its moment, and I’m proud to be a part of the movement.” While she acknowledged the progress, Wilson emphasized the need for more opportunities for female artists in the country scene. “There is a shift happening, I will say. I hear more female artists being talked about. I still feel like we’re not completely there,” she stated.

Wilson also expressed her confidence in the resilience of women who are breaking through. “Here’s the thing about the girls, when they break through — because it is so hard to break through — they can stand the test of time. The ones that are breaking through right now, they’re going to be around for a long time. It’s good to see the girls coming through.”

For her Vegas performance, Wilson proudly had rising star Mae Estes opening, further demonstrating her commitment to supporting fellow women in country music.
