Andre 3000 opened up about the long wait for a new OutKast album, citing a lack of “chemistry” with his fellow group member, Big Boi, as the primary reason for their musical hiatus.
The Atlanta legend explained, “I think it’s a chemistry thing. We have to be wanting to do it,” emphasizing that both members need to be on the same page to create new music.
Andre also shared his shifting perspective on rap music, revealing that his interest in the genre has waned. “It’s hard for me to make a rap, period,” he admitted, adding, “Sometimes I’m in the belief of ‘Let things be.’” With these comments, he hints that a return to the studio may not be in the cards anytime soon for OutKast.
