Lady Gaga has gifted her fans with an early holiday treat, dropping a surprise cover of the Christmas classic “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” on streaming platforms. The track takes a soulful rock approach, showcasing Gaga’s signature energy and powerful vocals.
The cover opens with vibrant electric guitars and playful rock ‘n’ roll scatting from Gaga, building into a driving rhythm of pounding drums and energetic organ riffs. As she belts out the lyrics, “You better watch out, you better not cry,” her rendition infuses the classic holiday tune with a fresh, high-energy twist.
This release coincides with Gaga’s appearance on A Carpool Karaoke Christmas special on Apple TV+, where she performed the song alongside radio host Zane Lowe and her band. The festive track follows a big year for the artist, who released “Disease,” the lead single from her upcoming seventh studio album, set for release in February. “Disease” made an impressive debut at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October.
