Country music duo Brooks & Dunn, enjoying a resurgence in their career, has hinted that new, original music might be on the horizon. The iconic duo recently won the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year award in November, marking their first win in 17 years and their third overall, a victory that felt genuinely earned, rather than a nostalgic sendoff.
In addition to their recognition, Brooks & Dunn released Reboot II, an album featuring reimagined versions of some of their biggest hits. While some tracks, such as those featuring Megan Moroney and Jake Worthington, have been well-received, others, like the collaboration with HARDY, have left fans divided.
The big question for fans, however, remains: Will Brooks & Dunn release new music? It’s been over 16 years since their last original album, Cowboy Town (2007), and Kix Brooks recently offered a glimmer of hope. According to Brooks, there’s a possibility of fresh material in the near future.
While Ronnie Dunn has continued to release solo albums over the years—most recently with 100 Proof Neon in 2022—Brooks has been less active on the music front. However, with his recent retirement from hosting the American Country Countdown, Brooks now has more time to collaborate with Dunn, potentially paving the way for new work from the duo.
At ages 69 and 71, respectively, Brooks & Dunn’s fans are eager to see if the pair will deliver new music soon, and with the changes in Brooks’ schedule, it seems the wait may soon be over.
