UK country music duo Ward Thomas is set to embark on a special acoustic tour, offering fans a stripped-back experience with reimagined versions of songs from their celebrated career. Twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, hailed as “the UK’s most successful country act,” will take their intimate show to 22 venues across the UK, including a performance at Newark’s Palace Theatre on January 21.
The tour will give audiences a chance to hear the sisters reflect on their musical journey, sharing the stories behind the hits that have made a significant mark on the UK country music scene. The intimate format will take them back to their roots, revisiting the early days of performing and writing together.
Since recording their debut album, From Where We Stand, while still in school, Ward Thomas has become a pioneering force in the UK country and Americana scene. Their 2016 follow-up album, Cartwheels, topped the UK Album Charts, making them the first UK country act to achieve that milestone. In 2019, the duo was honored with the Country Music Association’s Jeff Walker Global Achievement Award, recognizing their influence and contributions to the genre in the UK.
