Blake Shelton is gearing up for a long-term recording career, with plans to keep making music for the foreseeable future. The country star shared updates on his upcoming projects, including the release of his new song “Texas.” While Shelton hasn’t set a definitive date for his next album, he anticipates that by January, he will have a clearer timeline.
He explained that the release of the new song will likely determine when his album will drop. “The truth is, my new record label will probably wait to see how the song performs on country radio,” Shelton said, adding that once the song’s success is measured, they’ll “probably start the clock” on the album’s release.
Shelton made it clear that he’s not planning to slow down anytime soon. “I’ll keep recording until they tell me time’s up,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to creating music for as long as possible.
Reflecting on his career, Shelton also discussed one of his most memorable collaborations—the 2017 Christmas duet “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” with his wife, Gwen Stefani. Shelton recalled how the song came about during an interview a few years ago: “I wanted to be part of Gwen’s Christmas album but wasn’t sure how. I wrote a song title and sent it to her as an idea. I only meant it for her, but when she heard it, she loved it and they ended up writing the song as a duet.” Shelton’s excitement grew when he found out the song would be featured as a duet, marking a special moment in their musical collaboration.
