Danish heavy metal legends King Diamond have released the chilling new music video for their latest single, “Spider Lily.” The track marks their first new music since the 2019 release of “Masquerade of Madness.”
The video was partly filmed at the eerie Pennhurst Asylum, located just outside Philadelphia, during the band’s recent North American tour. The shoot took place just two days before Halloween, adding an extra layer of spookiness to the already unsettling location. The video features King Diamond himself and actress Jodi Cachia, with producer David Brodsky and crew contributing to the haunting visuals.
Reflecting on the experience, King Diamond remarked, “What a dark but great experience. Hopefully, that was not the last video we will be able to film there.” The asylum’s eerie atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for the band’s signature dark and theatrical style.
“Spider Lily” continues the band’s tradition of blending heavy metal with haunting narratives, and the video is sure to captivate both fans and newcomers alike.
