Finnish melodic death/doom metal band The Harbinger has unveiled “Sleepless,” the second single from their upcoming EP Gates of Hell, set for release in 2025 via Inverse Records. The haunting track comes accompanied by a gripping music video, reflecting the band’s signature blend of atmospheric doom and crushing death metal riffs.
In a statement, the band described the song as a descent into a nightmare where the boundaries between dreams and reality blur. “As the veil between dreams and reality are tangled, you descend into a nightmare prison where demons of your own making force you to question your sanity,” they shared. “Once the gates have been opened, they can never truly be closed, and you will be forever bound to horrors of imagination bleeding through to the waking world.”
Formed in the cold winter of 2016 in Kouvola, Finland, The Harbinger has evolved over time, sharpening their sound through lineup changes and careful experimentation. The band’s earlier releases, Shadows Dance (2020-2021) and Dead Ends (2023), marked significant milestones in their musical journey. Now, with Gates of Hell on the horizon, the band is set to take their sound to even darker and more atmospheric depths.
