Korean rock band Silica Gel is set to close out 2024 with a special series of year-end concerts, titled “E.O.D,” at KT&G Sangsangmadang Live Hall in Mapo District, Seoul. The band will perform four free shows on December 27 and 28 to celebrate the year’s achievements and offer fans a memorable send-off.
The free concert tickets were available through a lucky draw, which ran from December 16 to 18 and garnered an overwhelming response with 53,000 applications. The winners were announced earlier this week.
Founded as a project band in 2013, Silica Gel became a permanent group in 2016 and quickly made waves in Korea’s indie rock scene. Their breakthrough came in 2022 with the release of the hit song “No Pain,” which propelled them to stardom. Today, the band is a leading force in the Korean rock music resurgence, having won multiple accolades this year, including Best Modern Rock Song at the Korean Music Awards and Best Asian Creative Artist at Taiwan’s Golden Indie Music Awards.
These year-end concerts promise to be a fitting celebration of the band’s remarkable journey, as Silica Gel continues to captivate audiences with their innovative sound and dynamic performances.
