Korean pop music girl group fromis_9 will release a heartfelt farewell single, titled “from,” on Monday, December 31, marking the end of their contract with Pledis Entertainment. The song will serve as a final gift to their loyal fandom, flover, as the group wraps up its tenure with the label.
According to an official statement from Pledis Entertainment, the single is described as “a fan song expressing the members’ gratitude to their fandom, flover, for years of unwavering support.” Member Hayoung contributed to composing the track, while all eight members — Saerom, Hayoung, Jiwon, Jisun, Seoyeon, Chaeyoung, Nagyung, and Jiheon — collaborated on the lyrics.
In their message to fans, the group expressed their deep emotions: “We poured our hearts into writing this song like a letter for flover,” the members said. “We hope our sincerity reaches you and warms your hearts this winter. May this song blend seamlessly into your memories, bringing smiles and joy wherever you are.”
Fromis_9’s most recent album, Supersonic, released in August, was a milestone for the group, earning critical acclaim both in Korea and internationally. The album’s title track was included in several top K-pop song lists for 2024 by major music publications such as Billboard, PopMatters, NME, and Dazed.
The upcoming release will be the group’s final project under Pledis Entertainment, a subsidiary of HYBE Labels, which also manages K-pop acts like Seventeen and TXT. The agency had previously announced on November 29 that fromis_9 and Pledis had mutually agreed to part ways, marking the end of their activities under the label.
As of now, fromis_9 will complete their remaining scheduled activities through the end of 2024 before officially wrapping up their time with Pledis. The members’ future plans have not yet been disclosed.
