Eminem and his long-time collaborator Paul Rosenberg are celebrating two decades of their groundbreaking hip-hop radio station, Shade 45, with a special roundtable discussion. The SiriusXM channel, which launched in 2004, has become a cornerstone of uncensored, commercial-free hip-hop, and in the anniversary special, the duo reflects on its lasting impact.
The special, aired on Christmas Eve at 10 p.m. ET, features Eminem alongside key figures from the channel, including Shade 45’s DJ Whoo Kid, Lord Sear, and DJ Tony Touch. The group delves into the creation of the station, sharing insights on how it became a cultural force, and revisiting some of the standout moments of the past two decades.
Throughout the conversation, Eminem discussed a range of topics, including his relationship with 50 Cent and the possibility of future collaborations. He also reflected on his musical journey, revealing insights into his creative process and his favorite tracks from the album Encore, particularly the ones that were impacted by the album’s infamous leak.
“‘Encore’ would’ve been right there with ‘The Eminem Show’ if we hadn’t had those leaks,” Eminem shared during the special. “Because if ‘Bully’ would’ve been on there… I saw 50 was talking about something like that in an interview recently, about the massacre.”
