Castlederg country music singer Gareth Hamilton, known professionally as Gareth, is preparing for his most ambitious tour to date, marking a major milestone in his career.
Although the artist has been performing locally across Ireland for nearly a decade, his career skyrocketed after sharing a cover of Noah Kahan’s Stick Season. The video quickly went viral, accumulating over 25 million views and 10 million streams. This viral moment propelled Gareth into the spotlight, earning him a devoted fanbase and solidifying his place in the music scene.
“My career has changed completely,” Gareth reflected. “Up until January this year, I was still playing bars in my area, and no one was really paying attention. Now we’re announcing headline tours—it’s insane. It feels like a dream come true.”
His success didn’t stop there. Gareth’s debut cover EP, Covers (From Across the Pond), has racked up more than 15 million streams, further solidifying his place as a rising star in the country music world.
Growing up surrounded by country music, Gareth credits his love for the genre to his grandparents, who were avid fans of legends like George Jones. “It was always part of the family,” he said, though he admits country music wasn’t always considered “cool” in his youth. Despite this, it has now become the foundation of his musical identity.
Gareth’s journey, from humble beginnings to a headline tour, highlights the transformative power of music and the lasting impact of a single song.
