Quebec-based duo Country City Boyz are making waves in the music scene with their innovative blend of hip-hop, rap, and country music. Comprising Frank Dallas and FL4GA, the band has carved out a unique niche, merging genres in a way that’s unlike anything else in the industry today.
“We kind of merged rap and country in a way that nobody really did before,” said Dallas. “There are some Americans who do rap country, but it’s not exactly like what we do.”
Before forming the band, both Dallas and FL4GA had established solo careers. Their collaboration began in 2019 when Dallas was working on a new EP. Needing a country singer to feature on the hook of a track, he reached out to FL4GA, who had ventured into country music in 2018.
“The beat had a bit of a country vibe, and I thought, I need someone who can bring that country sound,” Dallas recalled. His producer connected him with FL4GA, and after their first collaboration, the two artists knew they had something special.
“It was the chemistry that came together naturally,” FL4GA added.
Now, as the Country City Boyz, they’re bringing their genre-defying sound to the forefront, offering a fresh twist on both rap and country music.
