Two months after Hurricane Milton forced the cancellation of the Country Thunder music festival in Kissimmee, many ticket holders are still waiting for promised refunds. Despite earlier assurances from event organizers that refunds would be processed by December 26, many fans, including Meghan Messier, say they have seen no sign of reimbursement.
“I haven’t received a single email confirming the processing of my refund, nor has anything appeared in my account,” Messier told. She also shared her frustration with the lack of communication, noting that after multiple attempts to reach the festival’s customer service, she was met with repeated voicemail messages. “Thank you for calling Country Thunder. We’re busy assisting other fans right now. Try again later,” she recalled hearing during her calls. This week, the message shifted, stating that their offices were closed from December 21 to January 5.
Earlier this month, Country Thunder explained that the delay was due to the time-consuming process of manually verifying each order before issuing refunds, as well as the need to confirm payment methods and investigate chargebacks initiated by fans through their credit card companies.
Despite these explanations, customers like Messier are growing increasingly frustrated. “I’m not panicking, but I am irritated because they said the money would be refunded by December 26 and it’s now January,” she said. “Stop saying things if that’s not what you mean.”
With calls and emails going unanswered, fans are left in the dark, and many have expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the situation. “At this point, I will never, never purchase tickets from them again,” Messier added.
As the refund issue remains unresolved, Country Thunder organizers have yet to clarify when fans can expect their money back.
