Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts have unveiled a powerful new live music video for their track “Take The Long Way,” captured during the band’s debut performance in Japan. The video, recorded at Tokyo’s iconic Club Quattro, showcases the Nashville-based rock band in full force, delivering a raw, energetic performance in front of a captivated audience.
“Take The Long Way” is featured on the band’s latest album Rogue To Redemption, released in August through Gypsy Rose Records. The song, which was born from a period of intense creativity, holds a special place for lead singer Tuk Smith. In a recent statement, Smith reflected on his first experience performing in Japan: “It was such a great welcome — I felt like the fans there immediately understood what I’m doing. Arigato!”
Smith has also shared that the song was created during a manic burst of inspiration, saying, “It basically wrote itself in real time.” He emphasized the deeply personal nature of the track, which resonates with themes of resilience and self-discovery. “Though in today’s culture of ‘fill-in-the-blank’ style lyric-writing, I think the more personal the better. Finding inspiration from dusting yourself off? I think that’s something everyone can relate to.”
The new live video captures the heart and soul of Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts, offering fans a glimpse of the band’s electrifying live show and a deeper connection to their music.
