Legendary Christian rap group Preachers In Disguise (P.I.D.) is back in action and gearing up to release new music in 2025 after signing with Holy Culture Records. The trio, who pioneered Christian hip-hop, has already dropped several singles throughout 2024 and is ready to take their music to a global stage.
P.I.D. member Ace One The MC shared that the group’s reunion began in 2021 when several pioneers of Christian rap came together for the documentary Mic Drop: The Culture of Christian Hip Hop. This project reignited the group’s passion for both music and ministry.
“As we began to perform together again after 35 years, we were surprised to be pursued by Holy Culture Records to return to the music scene and share our gift on a worldwide platform,” Ace One said in a statement. “As seasoned artists, we aim to show longevity and contribute to the ministry aspect of Christian hip-hop (CHH).”
Formed in 1986, P.I.D. consists of Fred Lynch, Jonathon Johnson (King Solomon Jay), and Richard Martin (Ace One The MC). They are regarded as pioneers in the Christian rap scene, with their debut project Here We Are released in 1988.
The name “Preachers In Disguise” reflects the group’s mission to use rap music as a tool for spreading the gospel, describing themselves as “Holy Ghost Preachers in rapping disguise.”
Fans can expect more music from P.I.D. in 2025 as the group continues to shape the future of Christian hip-hop.
