Country music star Megan Moroney, who will perform at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, has set one condition for a New Year’s Eve kiss—she needs to meet a cowboy in Times Square.
“As of now, the answer is no,” Moroney told The Post. “Unless I meet some sort of hot cowboy in New York… we’re still looking.”
While the famous Naked Cowboy, Robert Burck, might have seemed like a possible contender, Moroney quickly ruled him out. “Too bad he’s married and 27 years older than me,” she joked.
The Savannah, GA, native is no stranger to New York. She grew up visiting the city often thanks to her father, a Bronx native. “I’ve been to New York since I was a baby. My dad has six brothers, so I’ve been coming here forever,” she shared.
For Moroney, this New Year’s Eve performance holds special meaning. “I remember being on my grandma’s couch in New Jersey, falling asleep around nine, but waking up to see the ball drop and the performers. It’s like a full-circle moment,” she said.
In March, Moroney will return to New York to perform at Radio City Music Hall, marking the start of her Am I Okay? U.S. tour.
As for that New Year’s kiss, the search for the perfect cowboy continues.
