Aaron Watson, the steadfast independent artist from Texas, continues to make waves in the country music scene. His latest album Vaquero has launched into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and secured the No. 2 spot on the Top Country Albums chart, marking his biggest career debut to date. With the album receiving praise from major outlets such as Texas Monthly, Billboard, Rolling Stone Country, and CMT, Watson is once again proving his power in the industry.
Vaquero follows the success of Watson’s landmark album The Underdog, which made history in 2015 as the first-ever album by an independent male country artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Vaquero features the hit single “Outta Style,” which became a record-breaking Top 10 song on country radio’s national airplay charts. Watson’s latest single, “Run Wild Horses,” has also made its mark, climbing into the Top 40 on country radio charts.
A true pioneer in the independent music world, Watson’s 14th album, Live at the World’s Biggest Rodeo Show, marks his first live album in nearly a decade. Recorded in front of 65,000 fans on opening night of the 2017 Rodeo Houston, the album carries personal significance. It will be released on August 24, 2018, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey’s landfall, with $1.41 from each album sold going to the Rebuild Texas Fund in support of the storm’s recovery efforts.
Having performed over 2,500 shows across the U.S. and Europe, Watson’s career spans nearly two decades, with more than a dozen albums to his name. His determination to stay true to his roots while growing his global reach was further solidified with a new distribution partnership with ADA Worldwide. As Watson continues to make waves, his commitment to delivering heartfelt country music to his fans remains unwavering.
