The 9th PPOP Music Awards, took place on December 28, 2025, saw The Nation’s Girl Group BINI and rising city-pop star Maki leading the charge with a total of 17 nominations from ABS-CBN Music.
BINI, the popular eight-member group, has earned nine nominations, including major categories such as Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year. Their track “Salamin, Salamin” is up for Best Production Design in a Music Video, Music Video of the Year, and Song of the Year. Meanwhile, “Pantropiko” and “Cherry on Top” are dominating the Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year categories, respectively. Additionally, BINI’s third album, Talaarawan, is vying for Album of the Year, while their recent Grand BINIVerse concert is nominated for both Album of the Year and Concert of the Year.
On the solo front, Maki from Tarsier Records has scored six nominations, including Breakthrough Artist, Solo Artist of the Year, and Artist of the Year. His hit songs “Dilaw” and “Namumula” have earned him nods for Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Best Production Design in a Music Video.
In other categories, BGYO is up for Best Choreography in a Live Performance with their track “Patintero,” and StarPop’s 1621BC has earned a nomination for Best Vocal Arrangement for their song “Ikaw at Ikaw.”
The 9th PPOP Music Awards was a star-studded celebration of Filipino talent, with BINI and Maki leading the nominations in what was sure to be a memorable night for the Philippine music scene.
