2024 has been a milestone year for STAYC, with the K-pop girl group reaching new heights in both their music and connection with fans. After wrapping up their first world tour, “Teenfresh,” in March, the six-member act continued their successful run by releasing their debut full-length album Metamorphic in June, followed by the single “GPT” in October.
For the group’s youngest member, J, the year has been a period of significant growth. “Preparing for the tour and our full album made me realize how much we have grown, and I believe it also brought the members closer together,” J, 20, shared in an interview with ABS-CBN News. “Growth” was the word she chose to sum up 2024, reflecting on both their musical and personal progress.
However, STAYC wasn’t ready to end the year without treating fans to one final gift. On Christmas Eve, members J and Seeun released a surprise holiday single, Over U, Goodbye. The folk ballad evokes the cozy warmth of winter, showcasing Seeun’s delicate, sweet vocal tone alongside J’s rich, slightly husky voice—providing fans with a serene, heartfelt moment before the year closes.
Looking ahead to 2025, the group is eager to spend even more time with their global fanbase. “I’m excited about how much time we’ll get to spend with our fans [next year],” Seeun said, hinting at a comeback early in the year and more exciting projects, including another world tour.
For Filipino fans—affectionately known as SWITHs—there’s even more to look forward to, as STAYC is confirmed as part of the lineup for Waterbomb Manila in February. “To our Filipino SWITHs, I hope you spend the rest of 2024 filled with happiness. Please keep supporting us next year as well. I miss all of you and love you all,” J said.
With 2024 wrapping up on a high note, STAYC is ready to take 2025 by storm, with new music and more opportunities to connect with their loyal fans.
