In a recent appearance on the Joel Madden Artist Friendly podcast, Lainey Wilson opened up about her exciting collaboration with Post Malone on the track “Nosedive” and their creative partnership on her single “Have The Heart,” featuring Dolly Parton. The conversation revealed Wilson’s deep admiration for the multi-genre artist, whom she described as both a talented musician and a genuine friend.
Reflecting on her time working with Malone, Wilson expressed pure enthusiasm, saying, “I loved every second of it, and I love him.” She went on to share that the two have formed a close friendship, adding, “We’ve become great friends.” According to Wilson, Malone’s down-to-earth nature and his generosity make him a pleasure to work with. “He’s good people… I’m so proud that he’s part of country music,” she remarked.
Beyond his infectious personality, Wilson was impressed by Malone’s encyclopedic knowledge of country music. “You could quiz him and be like, ‘Who wrote that song back in 1951?’ and he would know it,” she shared. Given Malone’s passion for the genre, Wilson believes he has a long future ahead in country music. “He’s super talented… but I think that country, it feels to me, like it’s more natural than ever,” she said, confidently adding, “I’ll bet you he does country for the rest of his life.”
