Country music icon Trisha Yearwood, a Georgia native, shared a heartfelt tribute to former President Jimmy Carter on social media, following news of his passing.
“Rest easy, Mr. President. I’m sad for us and happy for you. Your and Mrs. Rosalynn’s legacy of love will live forever,” Yearwood wrote.
Born in Monticello, Georgia, Yearwood has long been an advocate for the Carter family and their philanthropic efforts, particularly with Habitat for Humanity, a charity that has played a significant role in the Carters’ lives.
Last year, during a memorial service for Rosalynn Carter, Yearwood, along with her husband Garth Brooks, performed John Lennon’s iconic song “Imagine,” further demonstrating her deep admiration and respect for the Carters’ enduring legacy of service and love.
