Latin pop music sensation Ozuna is set to share his remarkable journey to stardom in Odisea, an upcoming biopic that will chronicle his rise from Puerto Rican roots to reggaeton superstardom. The Grammy-winning artist, known for his chart-topping hits, will not only star in the film but also make his debut as an executive producer. Odisea marks the first project from his production company, Bear with Oz Films.
Directed by Spanish filmmaker Alexis Morante, the film is produced by Zumaya Cordero in collaboration with Caribbean Films. It aims to inspire audiences, particularly young people, by telling Ozuna’s story of perseverance in the face of adversity.
Ozuna explained the heart of the film: “Odisea is a project we worked on with great dedication, with the goal that my story can serve as an inspiration to children and young people to never stop pursuing their dreams, and to never give up until they achieve them. We all can do it despite the obstacles that we face along the way. I am a living example of that.”
The film features a talented cast, including Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Dania Ramírez, Ana María Estupiñán, and Jencarlos Canela, among others. Odisea will be Ozuna’s sixth film role, following appearances in F9, Tom and Jerry, Father of the Bride, Que León, and Que Leones.
Morante shared his thoughts on directing the film, describing it as both a technical and artistic challenge, filmed in locations like Santo Domingo, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and New York. “The film portrays the essence of an interplanetary star of current music who, far from losing his roots, brings them to the foreground,” Morante said. “It crosses the boundary of reality time and again with an actor interpreting his own life in a way I’ve never seen before.”
Though Odisea doesn’t yet have a premiere date, fans can expect a powerful, inspiring story of Ozuna’s unwavering dedication to his craft.
