IU, South Korea’s beloved singer-songwriter, is set to release her highly anticipated second concert film, IU Concert: The Winning, next month. The film, distributed by CGV Icecon, will spotlight IU’s unforgettable encore performances at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul on September 21 and 22, part of her first-ever world tour.
The two-night concert series, titled Hereh Encore: The Winning, marked a significant milestone for IU as the second day of the event celebrated her 100th solo concert over her 16-year career. The world tour, 2024 IU Hereh World Tour Concert: The Winning, kicked off in Seoul in March and spanned 18 cities, including stops in Hong Kong, Singapore, London, and Los Angeles, before concluding on August 2.
Since debuting in 2008, IU has become a household name in South Korea, known for her iconic hits such as “Good Day” (2010), “YOU&I” (2011), “The Red Shoes” (2013), “Through the Night” (2017), and “Lilac” (2021). Her remarkable achievements include being the first female soloist to perform at prestigious venues like the KSPO Dome in 2019, the Olympic Stadium in 2022, and this year at the World Cup Stadium, the largest stadium in Korea.
Recently, IU was named Korea’s No. 1 artist by Billboard and was also recognized for her philanthropy, donating 500 million won (approximately $338,500) to eight charities and hospitals on Christmas Day.
IU Concert: The Winning will be available exclusively at CGV theaters, offering fans a chance to relive the magic of IU’s world tour on the big screen.
