UK indie pop icons The Primitives have announced the cancellation of their highly anticipated Australian tour, which was set for February 2025. The band shared the disappointing news on social media, attributing the decision to “unforeseen circumstances.”
The statement read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Primitives are regrettably forced to cancel their highly anticipated Australian tour in February 2025. The band and promoters apologise for any inconvenience caused and will provide further updates regarding ticket refunds as soon as possible.”
This marks the second time the trio, known for their 1988 smash hit Crash, has had to cancel an Australian tour. Initially, they were scheduled to perform three dates earlier this year, showcasing their Lovely album in its entirety. However, those shows were also called off by promoters, Troubadour Presents, due to “circumstances beyond our control.”
Fans eagerly awaiting the band’s return to Australia will now have to wait for further updates on rescheduled dates and ticket refunds.
