Rising country music star Anne Wilson is taking fans behind the scenes of her remarkable journey in a new YouTube docuseries, reflecting on the transformative role of faith in her life and career. In the series’ first episode, Wilson opens up about her hit song “My Jesus” and the unexpected success it has brought her.
“I never expected ‘My Jesus’ to do what it has done,” Wilson shared. “I remember writing that song with Matthew and Jess and feeling like it was such a special song, but I had no idea the impact it would have on so many people’s lives.” What started as a deeply personal tribute soon became a life-changing hit, marking the beginning of a series of blessings and opportunities for the Kentucky native.
“The doors that have opened for me have been absolutely amazing,” Wilson continued. “Sometimes I sit in awe and can’t believe my life has gone from being a little 15-year-old girl in Kentucky singing at my brother’s funeral to signing a record deal, releasing my second album, and all the incredible opportunities in country music.”
Wilson credits her rise to the work of God and often expresses her faith through her music. “My Jesus” was born from the devastating loss of her brother, a moment that shaped both her personal and professional life. “I remember the gut feeling of, ‘I’m either going to trust God, or I’m going to do this on my own,’” Wilson recalled. “It was hard trusting God in those moments, but I knew I had to or I wouldn’t survive.”
From humble beginnings to signing a record deal and launching her career, Wilson’s journey continues to inspire both fans and fellow artists. With opportunities flowing steadily since the release of “My Jesus” three years ago, Wilson is now poised to make an even bigger impact in the world of country music.
