Post Malone’s deep connection to country music took center stage during his headlining performance at the Wild Horses Festival in San Diego, where he revealed the two artists who dominated his playlists in 2024.

The 29-year-old singer and songwriter shared with fans that, while he typically doesn’t track such details, he felt compelled to disclose his top two artists for the year: country legends George Strait and rising star Zach Top.

Following this revelation, Malone introduced Top, 27, to the stage, where they joined forces for a rendition of Vince Gill’s “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away.” Top had already performed earlier in the evening, alongside other acts like Paul Cauthen and Vincent Neil Emerson.

Malone’s set blended his recent country-inspired tracks from F-1 Trillion, along with hits from his previous albums like “Circles,” “I Fall Apart,” “Rockstar,” and “Sunflower.” His performance followed an appearance at Beyoncé’s Christmas Day halftime show, where the pair performed their collaboration, “LEVII’S JEANS,” at the Texans-Ravens game in Houston.

Malone, who has embraced country influences on his recent album, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, thanking Beyoncé for the collaboration in a heartfelt message on social media. “Thank you @Beyonce so much for havin me out in Houston, and on your beautiful record. Also, thank you for sharin your talent and art with the world. I love you,” he wrote on December 28.

Since the August release of F-1 Trillion, which features collaborations with country heavyweights like Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Tim McGraw, and Lainey Wilson, Malone has solidified his place in the country music world. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Looking ahead, Malone is preparing for The Big Ass Stadium Tour in summer 2025, where he’ll be joined by Jelly Roll, with whom he collaborated on “Losers.” The tour kicks off on April 29 in Salt Lake City and will make stops across North America before concluding in San Francisco on July 1.

In addition to his album success, Malone marked a key moment in his country music journey with his Grand Ole Opry debut, where Brad Paisley praised his “country heart” and dedication to Nashville’s traditions.
