Japan’s telecommunications giant NTT Docomo has introduced its new girl group, Cosmosy, aiming to make a significant mark on the global K-pop scene. The four-member group, composed of Japanese members, was created with the guidance of top K-pop producer teams.
The name “Cosmosy” is inspired by the phrase “Cosmos of Youth,” symbolizing boundless potential, growth, and the challenges youth face. Cosmosy’s debut is being eagerly anticipated, with details on their global debut, label partnerships, and digital distribution expected to be revealed soon.
In the meantime, the group has released the music video for their debut single “Zigy=Zigy,” available across their official social media platforms. The video showcases the individuality of the members—A’mei, De_hana, Himesha, and Kamion—and immerses viewers in a visually stunning, futuristic universe.
“Zigy=Zigy,” an Afro-pop-influenced dance track, combines English, Korean, and Japanese lyrics, reflecting a blend of traditional Eastern sounds with modern pop elements. The song, which explores themes of teenage inner turmoil and identity struggles, features dynamic pluck synths and an unexpected chorus, offering an energetic vibe reminiscent of Japanese video games.
The track’s production includes contributions from renowned K-pop creatives such as Citizens of Cosmos and the A&R team Amplified, while Sinxity, known for his work with Blackpink, provides overall creative direction. The choreography for “Zigy=Zigy” was crafted by Mood Dok, a former member of YGX.
With its unique concept and blend of cultural influences, Cosmosy is poised to make waves in the K-pop industry.
