Nelly Furtado recently revealed the reason behind turning down Drake’s offer to perform with him during a show in Toronto — and it wasn’t due to a lack of admiration for the rapper.
Furtado shared that Drizzy had extended the invite at the last minute, asking her to join him on stage at 1 a.m., just two hours after his initial request came in at 11 p.m. While the “Promiscuous” singer expressed her deep respect for Drake, she explained that the timing just wasn’t feasible.
“I love him to death, but I was like, ‘I’m not showing up without glam,’” Furtado said. “Of course, he’s so famous, it will be everywhere. I couldn’t make it that time, but anyways, I love him a lot. He’s a great guy. He really put Toronto on the map in a different kind of way and Canada in general.”
Although she couldn’t make the show, Furtado expressed a strong desire to collaborate with the artist in the future.
