BTS continues to break records, even while on hiatus. The K-pop juggernauts have reached another monumental milestone as their 2015 hit “DOPE” surpassed 800 million views on YouTube.
Released on June 24, 2015, at midnight KST, the music video for “DOPE” has now achieved over 800 million views, marking nearly ten years since its debut. As part of their third mini-album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life Pt.1, “DOPE” joins an exclusive group of BTS music videos to hit the 800 million mark. Other iconic videos in this elite category include “DNA,” “Boy With Luv,” “Dynamite,” “Blood Sweat & Tears,” “Fake Love,” “MIC Drop” (Steve Aoki Remix), “IDOL,” and “Butter.”
As of the latest count, “DOPE” has accumulated 800,078,351 views and 9.3 million likes. The track, known for its vibrant saxophone melodies and dynamic electronic hip-hop style, remains one of the group’s most distinctive songs. It was also a pivotal moment in BTS’ career, becoming their first video to surpass 100 million views in 2016. A Japanese version of “DOPE” was later included in their second Japanese studio album, Youth.
