Rock legend Neil Young has made the decision to withdraw from Glastonbury Festival 2025, citing the BBC’s involvement as the primary reason for his exit.
The 70s icon, known for his rebellious spirit and staunch independence, confirmed the move following ongoing speculation about the festival’s lineup for the upcoming year. While other acts have yet to be confirmed, Young’s withdrawal has already caused a stir among fans.
In a year of notable announcements, Sir Rod Stewart was revealed in November as the first confirmed headliner for the coveted Sunday afternoon slot at Glastonbury. The 79-year-old star expressed pride in returning to the Pyramid Stage after more than two decades, making it his first time headlining the festival since 2003.
Although Glastonbury organizers remain tight-lipped about future headliners, Young’s decision to step away from the iconic event, tied to his stance on the BBC partnership, adds a layer of drama to the 2025 edition.
