George Birge is gearing up to release new music, offering fans a sneak peek at an unreleased track titled “It Won’t Be Long.” The country singer, who recently celebrated his second #1 hit with “Cowboy Songs,” shared a snippet of the song on Instagram, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
In a caption accompanying the post, Birge wrote, “POV: you made a new year’s resolution to be thankful for the little things,” setting the tone for the life-affirming lyrics that follow. The chorus of the song captures a sense of embracing life’s imperfections, with the lines:
“It might be crazy / It might be sweet / It might not be perfect and it might be / The last thing that you ever saw coming / But it gets a little better when it’s spinning around something / So buy the drink, steal the kiss, make the trip, take the risk, love as hard as you can and just hold on / ‘Cause life might be a lot of things / But it won’t be long.”
Fans can hear the full clip now on Birge’s Instagram, where he describes the song as “the realest lyrics I’ve ever written.”
Birge will be hitting the road soon, joining Dylan Scott for his Country Till I Die Tour, which kicks off on April 3 in Boston.
