Doechii has unveiled the much-anticipated music video for her track “Denial Is A River,” bringing fans a visually striking homage to ’90s sitcoms. Released on January 2, the video from her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal kicks off with the Florida rapper on the set of a playful sitcom. The video, directed by James Mackel and Carlos Acosta, features a comedic narrative where Doechii’s co-stars, Zack Fox and Rickey Thompson, help bring her first verse to life with a hilarious sketch about her ex-boyfriend.

As the video unfolds, Doechii reflects on her recent success and escapes the sitcom set before it dramatically blows up. The visuals are full of nods to ’90s TV shows, with a teaser released in December that spoofed the classic Family Matters, featuring cameos from artists like ScHoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, Baby Tate, and others. The final video showcases Doechii’s signature humor, with comedic moments that include playful skits mocking sitcoms and telenovelas.

“Denial Is A River” is one of 19 tracks from Doechii’s Alligator Bites Never Heal, which has been making waves since its release. The song’s title was inspired by a memorable moment from Wendy Williams’ radio show, and during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Doechii revealed the song’s personal meaning, including the revelation that she caught her ex cheating with a man.
