Polish black metal pioneers PATRIARKH, formerly known as Batushka, have dropped their fourth single, “ВЕРШАЛИН VII” (WIERSZALIN VII), ahead of the release of their eagerly awaited album, ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ (PROROK ILJA).
The track opens with a gripping narrative, quickly escalating into a furious storm of blast beats and chilling screams that define the band’s signature blend of black and death metal. PATRIARKH continues to push boundaries, expertly merging diverse influences while crafting their own distinct path within the genre.
PROROK ILJA, the band’s conceptual album, arrives on January 3, 2025, via Napalm Records. The eight tracks explore the dark tale of Eliasz Klimowicz, also known as the Prophet Ilja, blending Eastern Orthodox traditions with a mesmerizing, atmospheric sound that deepens the mystery of this enigmatic figure.
