This spring, young music fans in Barrie will have the chance to enjoy an exciting, family-friendly concert as the Mini Pop Kids hit the stage for their highly anticipated Celebration Tour. Known as the “original” kids-for-kids music group, the Mini Pop Kids have been entertaining audiences with their energetic renditions of popular songs since the early 1980s. Over the years, they’ve sold out concert tours across North America, released 20 albums, and amassed over 100 million streams.
The 2025 Celebration Tour marks the group’s 20th anniversary and will visit 29 cities across Canada, including Barrie, where they will perform at the Georgian Theatre on May 10. Fans can expect a fun-filled show packed with contemporary hits from artists like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan, alongside some classic tracks that celebrate the group’s rich history.
“Twenty years ago, we had the opportunity to reinvigorate one of Canada’s most nostalgic brands, the Mini Pops, and turn it into what has become Canada’s number one music brand for kids, Mini Pop Kids,” said Samantha Kives, vice-president of K-Tel Records. “We’re so proud of the show we’ve put together to celebrate the brand’s growth over the past two decades.”
Kives went on to express how meaningful it is to allow those who grew up with the Mini Pops to share the experience with their families. “It’s a great feeling to give those who grew up listening to Mini Pops the opportunity to share something from their childhood with their families,” she added. “Seeing everyone up and dancing for the whole show, singing and laughing together, is something we’ll never take for granted.”
Additionally, fans can relive the magic year-round by purchasing Mini Pop Kids 20, a collection of family-friendly renditions of today’s hottest hits, available on January 10. The album will feature covers of songs by Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Morgan Wallen.
Mark your calendars—Barrie is in for a nostalgic, high-energy performance!
