As country music continues to evolve with new stars like Shaboozey, Post Malone, and Megan Moroney, many fans find themselves reminiscing about the early 2000s, when country hits were dominated by acts like Rascal Flatts, The Chicks, and Big & Rich. While some of the biggest names from that era have continued to release music, a few have been notably absent. However, 2025 looks poised for a major comeback from these iconic country acts.
Rascal Flatts
Once a powerhouse on country music charts, Rascal Flatts scored 12 No. 1 hits and won numerous awards, including seven CMAs and a Grammy. Tracks like “Life Is a Highway” and “Bless the Broken Road” solidified their place in country history. After releasing their last single, “How They Remember You,” in 2020, the band went on hiatus and lead singer Gary LeVox pursued a solo career. However, as of October, the band reunited, leaving fans hopeful for new music in 2025.
The Chicks
The Chicks were the standout female vocal group of the 2000s, with hits like “Goodbye Earl” and “Cowboy Take Me Away.” With six No. 1 hits and 13 Grammy wins, they set the standard for modern country music. Their last album, Gaslighter, dropped in 2020, but since then, the group has focused on touring. While there’s no word yet on when new music will arrive, their return would undoubtedly be celebrated by fans who still long for their next chapter.
Big & Rich
Known for their flamboyant style and electrifying stage presence, Big & Rich were a defining force in the 2000s with songs like “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” and “Lost in This Moment.” While their music output slowed after their 2017 album Did It for the Party, the duo has been touring alongside Kid Rock and Gretchen Wilson in 2024. Given their continued energy and popularity, many fans are eagerly awaiting the possibility of new music in 2025.
As the country music scene continues to evolve, these veteran acts are gearing up for a comeback that promises to bring a wave of nostalgia and excitement to the genre.
