Carlos Santana has been forced to postpone his upcoming Las Vegas residency after sustaining a finger injury. The legendary guitarist, who was preparing for a series of shows in January, suffered a “hard fall” while walking at his vacation home in Kauai, breaking his left pinky finger.
According to an Instagram statement from Michael Vrionis, President of Universal Tone Management, Santana required surgical intervention, with pins inserted into the broken finger. As a result, Santana will be unable to play guitar for approximately six weeks.
“Doctors have assured us that he will make a full recovery,” Vrionis shared. “Carlos is in good spirits and eager to return to the stage once he heals.”
Santana was set to launch his An Intimate Evening with Santana residency on January 22 at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, but those eight scheduled performances have now been canceled. Fans are hoping for a swift recovery so the music icon can get back to performing soon.
