Canadian death metal band Archspire is set to create a music video like no other after raising nearly $40,000 through Kickstarter. The band, known for its already insane music videos, is aiming to top all previous efforts with what they’re calling “the craziest death metal music video ever.”
So far, details remain scarce, but the band has promised fans a production filled with high-octane practical effects, elaborate creature FX, and a full stunt team to bring their wild vision to life.
“We are in pre-production and so much has already happened,” the band said in a statement on their now-closed Kickstarter campaign. “We have a full script, written by our vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron, Mitch Ray, and the talented Rob Zawistowski, with production design by Kathleen Cooper.”
The video’s practical effects are being spearheaded by Nerida Karlen, with Erin Peters and Chris Clark, while the stunt team, led by Kelsi Chartrand, has been hard at work developing intense action sequences. The band has also partnered with Departure Lounge to utilize their cutting-edge 3D volumetric studio to achieve some of the most ambitious shots ever seen in a metal video.
Fans can expect a jaw-dropping spectacle as Archspire pushes the boundaries of death metal music videos into uncharted territory.
