Robbie Williams Teams Up with Black Sabbath Legends for New Track “Rocket”

by Barbara

British pop icon Robbie Williams has confirmed a high-profile collaboration with Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and Glenn Hughes for his upcoming album. The track, titled “Rocket,” is set to be featured on the LP connected to Williams’ upcoming biopic Better Man. In the film, Williams is uniquely portrayed as an anthropomorphic monkey, with his own eyes completing the surreal effect.

Williams, known for his seven U.K. No. 1 singles and 13 U.K. No. 1 albums as a solo artist and former member of Take That, shared in a recent interview with NME that the new music marks a departure from his usual pop style. He expressed his desire to create an album that reflects the sound he would have made had he left Take That at this stage of his career.

“Yes, it’s Tony Iommi and Glenn Hughes,” Williams confirmed. “This particular song encapsulates what I wanted to do perfectly.”

Describing “Rocket,” Williams highlighted the song’s powerful guitar riffs, saying, “It’s massive guitars, adrenaline-filled, and balls-to-the-wall. That one is definitely my favorite track off the new album.” Despite the rock edge of “Rocket,” Williams admitted that pop influences inevitably crept in during the creation of the album. “Unfortunately and fortunately… pop songs turned up along the way too,” he joked, reflecting on the balance between his rock aspirations and his knack for crafting hit songs.
