Country music powerhouses Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood have claimed the No. 1 spot on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart this week with their heartfelt duet, “I’m Gonna Love You.” The track amassed an impressive 815,321 impressions during the tracking period from December 27, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
The romantic ballad is featured on Johnson’s Leather Deluxe Edition, a follow-up to his acclaimed 2023 album, Leather. Released in November 2024, the project marks the first collaboration between Johnson and Underwood, who praised each other’s artistry ahead of the song’s debut.
Rounding out the Top Five on this week’s chart are Bailey Zimmerman’s “Holy Smokes” at No. 2, Blake Shelton’s “Texas” at No. 3, Jordan Davis’ “I Ain’t Sayin’” at No. 4, and Lainey Wilson’s “4X4XU” at No. 5.
The ascent of “I’m Gonna Love You” ends Jordan Davis’ reign at the top, where “I Ain’t Sayin’” had held the No. 1 position for six non-consecutive weeks. However, the Louisiana native’s track remains a strong contender for reclaiming the chart’s peak in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the week’s biggest mover was Ashley Cooke’s reflective anthem “it’s been a year,” which surged by 354% to land at No. 44. Originally released in December 2022, the song sees a seasonal revival each year as fans use it to underscore their New Year reflections.
Notably, this week’s chart featured no new entries, a rare occurrence on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart.
