Cody Johnson has a clear favorite from his latest album Leather Deluxe Edition, and he’s not shy about sharing it. The country star recently told CMT’s Cody Alan that “Georgia Peaches” is the standout track for him.
“I wrote it with Jake, my guitar player, and Jody, my fiddle player,” Johnson explained in a candid interview. “We might have had a big ol’ jug of Georgia peach moonshine, and let’s just say we had three or four glasses a piece—and this song just fell out.”
Released in November, Leather Deluxe Edition features a collaboration with Carrie Underwood on the duet “I’m Gonna Love You,” which has already climbed into the top 15 of the country charts. Fans of Johnson’s blend of storytelling and smooth vocals can hear his personal touch in “Georgia Peaches,” a track that perfectly embodies the spirit of the album.
