American indie singer-songwriter Bennett Neuhauser has released his latest album, Bennett Neuhauser at Sun Studio & Beyond, a 15-track country rock collection that blends heartfelt storytelling with a nostalgic, throwback sound. The album features seven songs recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee—the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll—while the remaining eight tracks were crafted at Neuhauser’s home studio near Chicago.
The new release is a rich mix of country music, rockabilly, and novelty tunes, infused with the humor, sincerity, and sentimentality that the genre often lacks today. The album spans a wide range of emotions and themes, from poignant stories of breakups, longing, and salvation, to lighthearted ditties about a silly space adventure, the desire to be an Elvis movie star, and even a tribute to a tough little old tractor.
Neuhauser’s latest work showcases his ability to capture the essence of classic country while adding a fresh, indie touch to each track. Whether reflecting on the struggles of everyday life or delivering a playful, whimsical tune, the album offers something for both the heart and the fun-loving spirit.
