Iggy Pop has praised Tyler, The Creator as a “genuine, old-school talent” with a modern twist, highlighting his versatility as a musician, dancer, and writer. On a recent episode of Iggy Confidential on BBC 6 Music, the punk icon reflected on a memorable collaboration with Tyler during a Gucci campaign featuring A$AP Rocky.
The project, directed by Harmony Korine, showcased the rock and hip-hop icons in a quirky West Coast setting, where they shared spaghetti and danced in bathrooms. The experience clearly left a lasting impression on Iggy, who said on-air: “I’ve always liked Tyler. I did a day’s work with him once, and he would do what it takes to get attention. He’s also a genuine all-around song, dance, writer talent — a genuine old-school talent with a new-school approach.”
