Sydney-based electronic artist Skeleten (aka Russell Fitzgibbon) has released Synth-Pop single “Let It Grow,” the latest single from his upcoming sophomore album, Mentalized, set for release on February 7th through 2MR / Astral People Recordings.
“Let It Grow” introduces listeners to a contemplative space, embodying a sense of surrender and dissociation. The track’s sensual synths create a dreamy atmosphere, as Skeleten explores the weight of intimate connection and the pull of emotions that cannot be ignored. With lyrics that capture the essence of yielding to something larger than oneself, the song becomes a reflection on the complexities of human relationships and the quiet acceptance of feelings that arise.
“I didn’t really realize the song was forming until it was already there,” Skeleten explained. “It just kind of started existing on its own. I guess that’s the whole vibe of the song—surrender and acceptance.”
The single arrives as part of an album that delves into the themes of modern disconnection, as Mentalized reflects on the mental spaces we navigate daily.
This month, Skeleten also wraps up a three-month residency at Sydney’s Pleasure Club, where he has been spotlighting local talent across the city’s music scene, while performing live with his full band. Additionally, Skeleten is set to perform at Golden Plains Festival in March, joining a stellar lineup that includes PJ Harvey, Fontaines D.C., Kneecap, and more. Fans can stay tuned for further announcements via Skeleten’s social media.
