Drake has officially kicked off the new year by returning to the studio, signaling that fresh music is on the horizon. The Canadian rapper shared a glimpse of his creative process in an Instagram post on January 7, showcasing his studio setup while sporting a crochet hat and a baby blue silk top that matched his stylish Chrome Hearts travel bag.
“I thought this through,” Drake captioned the post, sparking excitement among fans and industry peers alike. In another photo, he sported a money sign chain, with his nails also painted with the same symbol—a potential hint toward his long-rumored collaboration with PartyNextDoor, though the release date for the highly anticipated album remains unconfirmed.
The post generated a flurry of comments from fellow artists including Sexyy Red, Reese LaFlare, Blocboy JB, and Riff Raff, all expressing their excitement for the new project. “They ain’t ready,” wrote Big Sexyy, adding to the growing anticipation.
Drake’s return to the studio follows his early 2025 release of the “Fighting Irish Freestyle,” which briefly appeared online before being removed from its producer Conductor Williams’ YouTube account. On the track, Drake appeared to target NBA star LeBron James, who was seen at Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out concert in June—a notable moment considering LeBron’s high school mascot was the Fighting Irish.
Fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next from the 6 God as he teases new music to start the year.
